Click on the camera to watch a clip of Lauren in her own words from Hanover Evangelical Friends Youth’s Mission Retreat Richmond Revolution (Special thanks to Mike Hooper, not only for the video but also for his initial help in making 164JSUS.com a reality,Thanks Mike!)
God gave Lauren a special gift to be able to articulate her faith in person and in what she wrote. We have been amazingly blessed that she wrote so much down for us to read. This page has been assembled so, you the visitor can see the peace and confidence that she had found as well as hear the passion in her voice and in her words so that you to can get to know the one who gave it to her.
In her junior year of high school, Lauren was given an English assignment to create a personal anthology. A collection of literary and other interests as well as personal writings. She poured a great deal of time and of herself into this project. She took every opportunity to share her faith and her Savior with others. She made the cover show her two favorite colors, pink and black. When you click on the picture of the cover shown to the left, you will open a PDF file that contains selected pages from this anthology. All of what you will read are her original writings. The picture at the top of the page is her youth group at the retreat she refers to in her reflective essay. A special thanks goes out to an angel, a young lady whom I do not know, who the night of the accident found this book lying in the middle of the busy highway and gave it to me out of nowhere as the ambulance folks worked to free Lauren from her car. The binder containing these pages must have been thrown out by the impact. Our hope and our prayer is that when you read these pages, you will get a glimpse of the Jesus that Lauren knew and that once you do, your life will never be the same.
